Our History
To say that Showtime Motorsports owner Ken Thwaits is “driven” is an understatement.
Thwaits began dabbling in racing in his teens, eventually turning pro in 1979. For six years he continued to race, sharpening his driving prowess, until becoming the Mazda Pro Series national champion in 1984.
Later, Thwaits put the volatile and risky professional racing career on hold to spend more time with his young family. But he couldn’t leave the automotive industry all together.
In 1993, professional racers Ken Thwaits and Johnny Unser saw an opportunity to utilize their specialized professional driving skill set and industry knowledge to create and grow a new business, Precision Dynamics International (PDI).
PDI has grown into a full-service automotive training and marketing company – working with automotive industry giants such as Nissan and Hyundai to name a few – to provide dealer training programs, consumer driving events, and meeting and conference events.
Despite his professional success with PDI and numerous other business ventures, Thwaits still cannot resist the call of the racetrack and deafening roar of a customized engine. It’s in his blood.
Today, the Showtime Motorsports brand includes Ken’s racing team and racecars, and an outstanding classic Camaro collection.
Showtime Motorsports brings together a dynamic staff who employ diverse talents and share a passion for cars, racing and caring for clients like they are our own family members.
